Akash Parthi Bendran

Head of Science, IB Diploma Biology and MYP Sciences
European International School, Ho Chi Minh City

I have taught biology in international schools since 2016. Before Ho Chi Minh City, I taught IB Diploma Biology and led CAS at Beijing National Day School in China, and before that I was Vice Principal and a teacher of A Level and IGCSE Biology at Regent International School in Malaysia.

I enjoy planning lessons that put students at the centre, bringing in technology such as VR when it genuinely helps, and getting students out of the classroom: science fairs, an artificial reef project, and coaching the school football team.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in School Management and Leadership, Harvard Graduate School of Education and Harvard Business School
  • PGCE, University of Sunderland
  • Master of Pharmacology (Research), Universiti Sains Malaysia
  • BSc Biotechnology and Chemistry, St Joseph’s, Bangalore
